How Clarity Licensing Works

 

Clarity employs perpetual named user licensing. Purchased licenses of Clarity do not expire and there are no subscription fees. Seats of the software are purchased, and users are assigned a license seat. In order for a user to log into the system they must have an account set up in Clarity. Each user account occupies one seat of the license.

If you purchase 50 seats of Clarity, you are allowed to create 50 user accounts. If you delete a user account, its license seat is placed back into the pool of available seats from which you can create new user accounts.

Clarity licensing is managed by the Clarity server. There is only one Clarity Server installed in your environment and it can administer any number of users. Aside from that, there are no other restrictions placed on the system. You are allowed to install as many Client applications and Administrator applications as you need. There is no limit on the amount of data that can be stored in the database.

You are allowed to install the software components wherever it is convenient. Often people need access to Clarity from multiple computers, such as a primary computer at their office and from another computer when working from home. You can install the Client application on all those computers. You may only be logged into the system from one computer at a time though.
